An interesting article about using 2-dimensional DNA tiles to compute the logical XOR operation. Starting from a row of zeros with a centered 1, the authors could generate Sierpinski triangles viewed by microscopy.

Fig. 6D and E are stunning examples.

They state, that in principle now DNA could run every algorithm a home computer can - I would like to see a Mandelbrot set computed that way.
