Generic operations for the start of each iteration

Just to say that in addition to the generic option of abs() for all 3 or 4 dimension values at the start of each iteration or indeed elsewhere, one could allow abs() for any one of the 3 or 4, or any 2, or any 3 of 4. Similarly for negation, plus of course all flip/exchange options.
However they may have an effect on the DE, particularly the analytical version, in which case they couldn't be so generic as the DE calcs for each formula would need appropriate adjustment when such options are enabled - I don't think abs() has this issue but negation and flip/exchange may :( Of course there may be a fully generic fix for the DE say for the cumulative derivative but my pure math isn't up to knowing that, I'd have to do it the hard way by experimentation !!

thats how i generally do it, because i refuse to relearn calculus :) I prefer to think about DE as a graph of DE versus iteration count, shaped by offset, scale and/or power

The Buffalo form of z^n + z + c , made me expect bad analytic DE, so i was happy it could work.

BTW the comboBox i was using as an example,  contained  multiple  swap axis options, and the DE seemed OK ish, but I have been mainly testing safe symmetric Julias.

I figure that abs() and rotations are generally OK with analyticDE  for generic things, as they do not change the vec length.

I  often code formulas with lots of options for the purpose of exploring.  I view the ideal process is to explore in a large UI, then re-code an optimized version using only what is found to be needed. Especially for animation, however I have yet to find anyone  who will use Mandelbulber this way.
