curious for GPU benchmarks of "Ryzen with Vega"
« on: February 12, 2018, 09:31:39 PM »
I have no data to offer, but I am very curious to learn about the new processors AMD released today. They are marketed as "Ryzen with Vega". It is currently unknown if the integrated GPU can do double precision calculations in hardware at all, or how fast it is for that purpose.

So if anyone of you fractalists gets a chance to benchmark one of these new APUs in your circle of friends and family, try running some OpenCL based software on the integrated GPU.

If we're very lucky, AMD did not remove the double precision FPUs from the included graphics processor. (Game benchmarks are abundant in the tech news hype cycle. They aren't earth shaking, but good enough to warrant checking out the GPU compute performance.)

Thanks in advance for any information on this!
