(Question) Creating an executable for my project

Hello everyone,

A couple months ago I tried to create an executable release for my opengl project and someone pmed me saying how they needed to place a whole bunch of dlls in the same folder, only for the program to run without actually displaying anything (no errors). I've never created a release before and I'm not at all familiar with why these issues are happening, and I was graduating college in that time so I needed to take a break from this - but now that I have more time I want to get back to it and figure out how to make the exe.

Is there a guide somewhere that people have been following to create their executables? Given my lack of knowledge and the amount of possible issues that could occur I would be very grateful for your help and direction with this obstacle.

Thanks,
Ibrahim

**Edit:**

I just got a confirmation that it works today from a different user, the problem was indeed that I compiled with the debug libraries AND I was compiling dynamically rather than statically. Once I fixed those, I guess it works now! The new release is here: https://github.com/ixm-ibrahim/Visualizing-Julia-and-Mandelbrot-Sets/releases/tag/1.1

Visual Studio 2019 in Windows 10 - I just took the executable it made and used that as the release.

Would be good if the program was simple to use, that means, just download, unzip and use.
If there are many requirements, problably will restrict users.
Some problems that occurs:
Program is just for 64 bits. Old machines (32 bits) won't run.
Windows version (windows 7 to up at least)
version of visualstudio and others (Don't know if the new ones needs new dlls) If yes, they need to be included on pachage.
Other librarys and packages.
Many fractalforums members are programmers and don't have difficulties with this things but many are just users.

julofi:
I checked the binaries in the download section for this Visualizing fractals software.
It is compiled against the debug version of the libraries so just installing the runtime libraries from the Microsoft web won't work.
The author needs to compile it again.
