gerson wondered in his reply #71 to my Lyapunov diagrams image thread whether my parameter files could be used with other, released programs. That got me thinking about a general conversion tool for Lyapunov parameter files (from every program's structure to everyone's).

If the software developers are interested and willing to share a description of their parameter files, I could try to write a conversion tool (preferrably in JavaScript, if everyone uses plain-text based files, so one could copy&paste) - and if that does not work out, I switch to my go-to coding environment: command line gnu C++. The biggest challenge will most probably be the coloring schemes and there might not be a one-to-one correspondence between programs, but then one could use a standard coloring to at least see the overall picture.

What do you think of such a tool? Would it be worth pursuing? Or is the opposite strategy of an "import function" in each software whose developer is interested in such a feature be more user-friendly/feasible?

Anyways, I just added for a start a detailed description of the parameter file (plain text) to my image "Mandibula" that uses the original algorithm by Mario Markus - sectionally defined functions and detachedly computed will follow in the future.

I think that you could define a structure to your parameter file and the other software read it. But you can talk with the others and combine how it could be done. One example is ThunderboltPagoda that is developening a program too.
I will send your post to Christos (Fractal Zoomer). His software is in java and has a "user formula" option. This option has a file ( that could be edited and insert data to be calculate with many variables. Maybe is a way to implement it.
