It is a volume, as I understand. Still, the space is 3D. Maybe this could be imagined as a movement of electron or more likely a photons and not so as outwards shape.
Kind of repeating universe could be the consequences. Going just forward to return to the starting point.  (In theory. Practicaly the size is too large.)

This must be more easy modeled on computer than imagined. As that could get ones brains dislocated.

But most of toruses are created by rotation momentum or equatorial ejection or some outside force like when creating smoke toruses. Does universe rotates? Alsou who is in the hole at the center? Maybe the Absolute reached by prayer, meditation, sacrifices, shamanic drums ytamce and magical potions.

Does electron movement around hydrogen nucleus is topologicaly a 3-torus? It seems so, but I m not shure.

if space is a torus, it might explains why looped strings cannot fully contract, but need to vibrate.
