Life just WANTS to begin, it seems, and by following some simple instructions getting a simulation like this must mean that the start of life must be a comparatively fairly simple and robust process. Byebye to the idea that we're 'alone' in the universe, but I think most will agree to that nowadays anyway

That video also makes me think back with a hint of nostalgia to BBS-days when I dabbled in AI by letting 8-bit structures trying to achieve 'God'-state, counting steps needed to see which of the strategies will be used/combined for the next round... on a monochrome screen
