Hi guys,

right now i'm working with MB3D on an old Laptop with an i5 cpu which is very very slow (of course).

So i was wondering which hardware one should look for just in case of planning to by something new. Should it be a system with a higher number of cpu-cores/high cpu frequency or rather an average cpu with some high-end graphics card?

What kind of hardware would support MB3D best for faster rendering?

Thanks in advance for your input.

Hi there,

MB3D is a bit of 'almost legacy' software when it comes to it's resources needed. It solely runs on the cpu, and cannot access anything beyond 2-3 GB of memory:

Quote from Mandelbulb3DReadme.txt:

The image size is limited because a 32 bit program can use only about
2 to 3 GB of memory

So a good infrastructure (good quality motherboard, fast memory rather than More of it) supporting a good quality cpu is the best you can get to happily work with this fantastic program ;)

Cheers,
