 Hi all,

From when i was small child, phi has always interested me and hope to have friendly debate on the golden spiral:-

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_spiral

A few years ago a poem appeared on the net, the author isn't known, but i thought it very funny and accurate, it is below:-

Greek Proportion.
I am a ratio noticed by few,
a pyramid, a flower, in math and in you,
A golden mediocrity in planets and space.
Fibonicci's forty in my fifteenth place.
Though quite small i stretch to infinity,
the ancient Greeks raised me up to divinity
Fraternities exploit me without knowing my "MEAN-ING"
Some people maintain i have a mystical leaning.

Yes, the golden ratio can be found everywhere if you know what to look for. For example
https://fractalforums.org/fractal-mathematics-and-new-theories/28/numberphile-fibonacci-sequence-in-the-m-set/

If I remember correctly, Fraktalist, the admin has made a post somewhere with describing a number of other ways phi can be found in the mandelbrot set.

Btw, yes, it can be found everywhere:

Welcome to the forum, have fun.

Welcome to the forum!

here's the post red mentioned:
http://www.fractalforums.com/mandelbrot-and-julia-set/fibonacci-and-the-mandelbrot-set
where claude and me found a previously unknown occurence of phi in the mset.

you very probably already know this site? https://www.goldennumber.net/
My favourite resource for anything related to the golden mean, especially because the creator actually dismisses the many wrong examples for phi out there. and there's a lot of crap info out there.
I frequently use his tool phimatrix - must have if you're into phi.

feel free to start a discussion about phi!

wow dude that's bad! but then it's good that you're still here - always a matter of perspective - could be better but also a lot worse.
I wish you the best and hope you recover!
take all the time you need, we're not going anywhere ;)

Hi RedshiftRider and Frakalist,

Yes i thought that joining your forum would help to pass the time, for a few months i'm in a nursing home awaiting further operations, but i'm a happy soul if i have something to occupy my mind.

I have paralysis so i can not walk, i have a bowel operation on 29th June, this should then pave the way to semi independence....."Be Happy, Don't Worry", is my motto!

Hi Spain2points,

Knock yourself out and get confused by the Phi Puzzle if you want to buy it, it's called Alexander's Star, it drives you mad, LOL!!!

This is the last time I used phi: https://www.shapeways.com/product/L9K68Q94G/red-rose?optionId=65557790

Hi spain2points,

Loved the picture it reminded me of the retrograde Venus orbit which is an illusion from Earth that shows a rose from graphs plotted.
