Hello to everybody here and there
« on: November 19, 2021, 07:29:34 PM »
Hello all.
I became truly fascinated by MANDELBULB3D soft (MB3D) and I’m using it a lot for artworks.

MB3D is by itself, in my opinion, a truly beautiful piece of art.

Could someone help me to (re)trace the history of MB3D and so allow me to make due credits to the creator(s) of this Master-Art-Soft ?

I thank everyone here and there.

Many thanks, this helped a lot.

It seems to confirm me that (unfortunately), even for MB3D, there is nothing better than Google.

So let me, as a first try, write for credits to MB3D, that way :
{XXXz created with} Mandelbulb3D v. 1.99, https://github.com/thargor6/mb3d.

Best history is short history !
Am I right ?

Thanks again.

You are slightly wrong. It was made by Jesse. I don't know his real name, throught. Then he left the project due to health problems, buisiness or something and give it to thargor6, a creator of Jwildfire. Thargor6 just made few last versions of M3D with slight innovations. Of corse these are in github. But most of it was done by Jesse.

But the real it's history started with the search for "holy grail" of "real 3D mandelbrot" and founding of mandelbulb. This alsou was in fractalforums.com.

Alsou I should mention Luca aka DarkBeam as he meade a lot of formulas including all diffs, a Kali for idea of Amazing surface.

(I suggested Jesse to use image as textures. So i, too had some very minimal part in this.)

program code number one is Jesse,

then some additions to program code by thargor6
for distance estimation  techniques  credit to david makin and buddhi
formulas  jesse, darkbeam, knighty, twinbee, msltoe, aexion, buddhi, m benesi, jos leys and more

I thank you all.
Indeed the urls (and replies) provided, draw me a clearer picture now.

Needless to say, I'm an amateur MB3D user (though presently addicted to it...)

As such I apologizes for my naive questions.

I strongly feel, MB3D deserves it.

...and other questions too.
