Hello from Siberia, from Sayan Mountains  ;)
My name Vasily Makarov, owner of Stone Voices.
I am a programmer, the musician and the composer in ambient musical style.
I interested in fractals and also software development for their generation.
Also I look for hypothetical communication between fractals and sound synthesis
which will perhaps create new sound harmonies and forms  8)

Hi Vasyan!
Welcome to fractalforums. :)

Hey I'm a musician myself - very interesting to look through your vst fx and instruments - I'll try them some time! Especially the ambient reverb looks very interesting to me - my favourit genre (besides chillout and psytrance)

There have been quite a few tries to use fractals for music composition and sound generation, but most of them don't really sound musical, more like noise.
Though user claudes attempts were quite good. You might want to check them out.

Cheers,
Fraktalist

Hi Fraktalist!
Actually everything depends on a method of conversion of a fractal to a sound. I tried to transform the image of a fractal to a sound by FFT method, the sound really did not impress (more like noise). About it I think some other methods of synthesis based on fractals are necessary, in particular the this publication came across.

hey, veryvery interesting!!! thanks for sharing that one, I'm collecting examples for fractals in nature and .. everywhere. This one sums up pretty much all my findings in one neat document- perfect :)
Very interested if you start working on this - so if you need any input or 2nd opinion, please let me know. definitely post here in the forum.

you probably have heard of https://www.tone2.com/electra2-technical.html
they claim to use fractal synthesis. (haven't tried it yet)

There is in my arsenal Marazmator VSTi synthesizer where one method of synthesis, according to the concept similar to fractal is used. I developed it when was on the long-term treatment in hospital, there recorded an album Space Textures in dark ambient style where I used only this synthesizer and not any more.  ;)
