I haven't used the "new" Fractalforumus so far - was active in the StructureSynth group of the old one which shut down years ago.
Anyway - been doing Mandelbulb3D and StructureSynth for a couple of years - I am the current admin of the StructureSynth FB group which is dwindling away and dying a slow and - to me - painful death.

My main interest are panoramic fractal images as you can see here on veer.tv https://veer.tv/collections/generated-panoramas-102098

Some time last year I came across a project on GitHub called eisenscript - basically a javascript implementation of StructureSynth which can be run in a web browser.
I got in touch, forked it and created BrowserSynth out of it which is eisenscript + several primitives + script editor + obj/mtl exporter
It is available on GitHub https://github.com/kronpano/BrowserSynth and the live demo is hosted on GitHub as well https://kronpano.github.io/BrowserSynth/

Scripts can easily be share since they are encoded in the URL so the following link contains the complete script which will create Spikey
https://kronpano.github.io/BrowserSynth/#B/hZBBb4QgEIXP5Ve8cxMNqDTspf8FFNdt3dogm7oa/ntnZFt76wEmDPO99zKzj7japfOfcYCWYs7vyb35Ns6ojJRSCINnbGFBo1OwQoTb6BEsrh0UXhF6bOJpa6dxCnCjbd+RECpq3VEYhJU5mhfpB+03UbEkMjNezkN0480DdzQMFI0G+Skjd6VfsCInxSSN1AlZZKU6UxJVarqZPkmkUIvKcOwVpuQBWZ406Rd7TdhluKv5h2yZIKOHU01O9K0IVSVrq9QHe/Vi42BkkKN/DZfoU3DiyOjyXo6VTMF+nD0c+RjMNlJ9SW5aaICyy0c4vR9V1hSkO9Q6VtN/1LLjv/g3
which - once exported and materials changed and rendered can look like spikey below.

There are a couple of example scripts if somebody wants to try.

More later in the software section of this forum.

So to wrap it up -

      Hello everybody!!

Hello Bernd,

You probably will not remember me, but I have been following you on DA for years in the past and am a great fan of your MB3D and StructureSynth explorations
I too have played with panoramic images, but being as lazy as I am I could't be bothered rendering a 3d view and then injecting spatial metadata... because I always thought no one wants to look at those anyway...  ;) Glad to see yours now for the first time!

Welcome and I hope you enjoy your stay!

Sure I remember - you always leave nice and encouraging comments!!!

When it comes to panoramic images - if you post them on kuula https://kuula.co/profile/kronpano - a free panoramic image site you don't need to inject metadata. Only FB is a bit weired there. More people are also doing panoramic drawings as well so as long as it is fun - why not.

Thanks, glad somebody likes it.

Problem with Browser/Structure Synth is that many people simply don't like "programming" in the widest sense.
I like it that you can - in a couple of lines - create quite interesting structures.
Then again - I am useless when it comes to drawing/modelling and I was/am a programmer of sorts.
Will try to keep the 3D L-system idea alive for a bit longer by posting images and parameters every once in a while.

Cheers.

@kronpano have you seen this?

https://fractalforums.org/fractal-image-of-the-month/70/fractal-image-of-the-month-discussion-thread/150/msg22474#msg22474

which gave rise to the first "technical challenge"... and this... (the discussion)
https://fractalforums.org/fractal-image-of-the-month/70/technical-challenge-discussion-the-lichtenberg-figure/3639

this is the place for entries https://fractalforums.org/fractal-image-of-the-month/70/july-the-first-technical-challenge-the-lichtenberg-figure/3624

in the discussion I posted something about L-Systems and I think that structuresynth could do it but I don't have any experience with that program

@3DickUlus Hadn't seen it so far - will have a look.
Then again for July I might be a bit late

Funny - you used one of the online L-systems I used for a bit.

There is also this one and with a quick tweak of some stuff I came up with that

https://draemm.li/various/fractals/l-systems/?WzIsIkYiLCJGID4gRkYrWytGLUYtRl0tWy1GK0YrRl1cbiIsLTIyLjIsOSw1LDAuNTE1LDAuOTY0LDBd

Problem is - I won't have much time in the coming weeks so I might need to pass on that one.

Cheers!!
