What I find with boolean mode fractals

I've used boolean mode in MDBB a few times for animation and have come to some conclusions.
Individual fractals can have individual materials which makes for interesting outcomes.

I found boolean mode makes a very intricate and well colored initial frame. When exploring the fractal both the detail and the colors become 'diluted' in all directions.

So less coloration and less detail the further you go in any direction from the initial frame render. I don't see this as a bad thing but just a function of this mode. I understand boolean algebra has made modern computing highly understandable by human beings because it works on similar decision making ideas as we do.

One easy method to avoid this continuous watering-down of the first frame is to run the animation in reverse so you are approaching more coloration and complexity rather than moving away from it.  ;D

Hi mclarekin. I'm using v2.18 with full OpenCl.
I probably should have posted this in fractal mathematics or similar on this forum.
Its just observations about this mode compared to standard mode (which is mostly 'hybrid' mode).

Maybe not much is known about boolean mode? I think Stephen Sink discovered it was possible to implement primitives in this mode but I recon only he knows how  :)

Thanks, for the "full mode"  clarification.  Regarding change of color it might be that you need to use constant detail size (render engine tab)  https://mandelbulber.org/graemes-blog/ 14 september 2018. This stops  some forms of color variation relating to distance from camera. Test it and tell us if this solves your issue.

Regards to boolean,  few people currently use it, but i would use it all the time if i had time to do animations :)  Primitives are a boolean thing whether in single formula, hybrid or boolean modes, they are not linked to slots.

Hi mclarekin. I experimented with Constant Detail Size and it does make some changes to a render. This is not what I noticed which seems to be a property of the fractal itself. I zoomed-out a lot from the fractal and I can see the fractal itself has a 'focal point'.

I noticed the 'focal point' of this fractal is associated with the centre of the image canvas so I added 2 guides (50% vertical, 50% horizontal).

I have found a number of fractals like this that seem to be associated with a single point.

in respect to your image (Abox Kali ?? based) it is a result of the  fractal maths.  I think it is the type of abs fold used in this formula and the addition of  Cpixel that does that. There are some transforms that will also do it.  You can get some interesting detail  near the  origin but  further away it is more boring withhas  a stretched appearance.   Abox Kali is more often used without the addition of cPixel (more julia like) and that removes the stretched appearance
The color algorthm being used  is directly related to the fractal maths, so it has a stretched appearance too. Example with add Cpixel disabled

I found the 'focal point' effect is caused by the boolean operator 'Intersection (AND)' between the first and second formulas.
When I change that to 'UNION (OR)' I get a more standard fractal image that has uniform coloration and detail in all directions.

I will watch-out for that because although the first frame is quite interesting it will degrade in any direction.
