Hi,
found something strange: If I change any color in Mandelbulbers settings - background for example - RGB has values from 0-255 - but in animationdock I have to enter a value (at Additionfactor edit:also in the box itself) up to 20000 to see a colorchange...is that as it should or an issue? Atm it is rendering so I cannot read the help-box, but the value of 20000 to see any colorchange confuse me a bit...shouldnt it be a value up to 255, too in the Animdock?

This will probably be an issue for Buddhi, but i will have a look as I have been making some changes in the color code. It  has been a while since I tested animation of color.

if you can send Buddhi or me the settings then we can quickly try and reproduce, which sometimes saves us a lot of time., especially if the problem is specific to the settings.

As always, thanks for bringing it to our attention,  the program has now got too big for us to thoroughly test it before each release.

Edit. I haven't had a look yet, but I am starting to remember exactly what you are saying. I cannot remember the tech talk ,  256 * 255 = 65280 is full color .  I had to learn this when we were implementing animation by sound. I have successfully animated Primitives RGB colors using  these  numbers.

16 * 16 * 255 = 65280, i would have to remember more about 16bit color?  I see in the settings file   Fog color is in hex -  (  fog_color_2 fc00 ff00 c000;) ,   but in animation the individual color parameters  each have  the range of 0 -65280.

Mandelbulber internally uses precise 16-bit representation of color components. It means than 0,0,0 is black and 65535,65535,65535 is white.
To get smooth transitions of colors in animation there is needed more precise representation of colors. This is the reason why it's different range.
If you save animation you will see that in settings file there will be used 16-bit numbers in data for animation.
If you change colors using "edit color" dialog window, then you don't need to take care about this conversion. It's done automatically.
If you want to manipulate colors values manually in animation table you just need to remember that 65535 is equivalent of 255. Examples:
Red: 65536, 0, 0
Grey: 32000, 32000, 32000
Sky blue: 0, 35000, 65535

@ buddhi. Thanks I am starting to remember,  BUT   if you select white, add a keyframe, and look at the animation table, max value will be 65280, hmmm?

65280 / 256 = 255
65535 / 256 = 255,9960  ---->  floor value of 255,9960 is also 255
As you see it doesn't make visible difference

That was my thought too, but was confuses me a bit is that I am only be able in the AnimBySound-functions "additionfactor" to add a max value of 20000.

Maybe this is correct, I am not sure as what I am doing is more "trial and error"...but when it works as I think, shouldn┤t it be possible to add a value of up to 65535 in the additionfactor of AnimbySound, too?

Regarding Animdock itself it was a error by me, thought the max-value there is also 255, but there it goes up to 65535...only the additionfactor in animbysound goes only to 20000.
