How to avoid zooming too deep?

I have a recurring issue where I start to zoom and then the image just stays as solid colour. What does target and camera do?

Camera represents a point where the camera is located
Target represents the point onto which the camera will focus (the camera is always looking at the target.)

Everything about the camera and target is in the User Manual (help menu)

BTW with zooming,  in  normal c++ mode the  minimum  camera to target setting is about   1e-11, in openCL modes it is about 1e-04 due to single precision accuracy
