I did an experiment where I used a random number generator to choose 2 numbers for slots 1 and 2 in a hybrid fractal. In Linux I did:sudo apt install rand.
Then from a command prompt:rand -N 2 -M 102 -e -d '\n'
This chooses two fractals from the 102 primary fractals I counted in Mandelbulber 2.16. I realise some fractals don't work yet but I ignored that for now.I then rendered the fractal and switched slots and rendered again. This is the second fractal I rendered.  I'm not exactly objective in how I choose fractals so I tried to escape from the 'Observer effect'.I was happy with the outcome and will probably use this technique again. I'm sure it has been thought of before.

I think I improved the process of selecting random fractals.
I made a text file numbered list of primary fractals that goes from 1 to 98 on my version of Mandelbulber. I did not include transitions or 4d fractals.
Then I used the rand query to find 3 slots from 98.  (rand -N 3 -M 98 -e -d '\n')
I select them from my text file list and I'm getting usable hybrid fractals that I can then tweak as usual.

Why am I doing this?
Selecting 3 fractals from a possible 98 gives 152,000 possible combinations. This is a lot for somebody without an extensive knowledge of hybrid fractals.

With 152,000 combinations and a lot more for 4 or 5 slots I wanted to start somewhere that is relatively 'objective'.
