Hello,
I would like to ask if it is possible to set image format when rendering keyframe animations from command line.

From help I found that I can use -O flag and specify overrides there.

By default images are rendered in png format, I would like to change it to exr.

What is the correct syntax? I tried many variations, but did not manage to change image type.

example command:
Code: [Select]
mandelbulber2.exe -O "keyframe_animation_image_type=exr" -n -K -s 40 -e 50 "path_to_fractal_file.fract"
When I set keyframe_animation_image_type value to exr in my User\mandelbulber\mandelbulber_214.ini config file, then it renders fine.

I also tried -f "exr" flag, but without success.

I am using Mandelubler 2.14 standalone on Windows 10.

Best,
Juraj

Hey juraj_,

You are right, your syntax should be correct, however this does not work yet, since the enum numeric value is only recognized.
For your cli command you will need to write it as:

Code: [Select]
mandelbulber2.exe -O "keyframe_animation_image_type=2" -n -K -s 40 -e 50 "path_to_fractal_file.fract"

The other types are:
Code: [Select]
enum enumImageFileType
{
IMAGE_FILE_TYPE_PNG = 0,
IMAGE_FILE_TYPE_JPG = 1,
IMAGE_FILE_TYPE_EXR = 2,
IMAGE_FILE_TYPE_TIFF = 3
};

I will put the correct string recognition for the next release, so then it should work with "exr" also.

The enhancement is now also tracked in this github issue: https://github.com/buddhi1980/mandelbulber2/issues/506

Cheers!  ;D

Hi,
thank you for your reply.

In the meanwhile I solved it by setting it in Mandelbulber2 user settings file.

And one more suggestion: -f flag seems to have an effect only on still frame rendering. It would be nice if it had an effect on flight/keyframe animation as well, or it was noted in help.

Best,
Juraj

@ juraj_

Good point, will be available in next release, then you can specify the format with the --format option:

Cheers!
