I realize that you can still get Lucas new formulas zip from the old site, but is he not going to have those available here?

dark-beam's latest journal (Hi I am alive? Yah dated  Jan 30, 2018) says "I am currently in a pause (possibly infinite or so) from DA/fractals/formula making."

I have been thinking about a database with all the versions of individual formulas including the ones that were overwritten with newer versions using the same name.
Also would like to include formulas that were orphaned (ie: ABoxSmoothFold2)
Need to scrape FF.com and other locations for JIT formulas as well.

I think about it but do not get it done. ::)
Not sure how to organize it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Edit: I have been getting this message more often lately on the .com site.
Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

I think it's a good idea. We were just having a discussion at Mandelbulb Maniacs about exactly how many formulas were available. The numbers varied between users greatly, partly because of the JIT formulas. It seems there are somewhere around 518 +-, excluding JIT's. I know I have ABoxSmoothFold2, but I don't know if I have other 'orphaned' formulas or not.

It is hard to know what you/we are missing.
There is also the issue of older versions of Mandelbulb3D that rendered parameters differently.
This comes to mind. Yellow Infusion by dainbramage1

I reopened an .m3i file of these parameters (with v1.89) that I had saved in July of 2012 and the preview looked different.
It seems that the Mandelbulb3D.exe version 1.799test works correctly but the Mandelbulb3D.exe version 1.89 does not.
The formulas used are identical between the two versions.
I am not sure which .exe version broke this parameter but 1.799test does work.

I use a fairly narrow number of formulas and tend to work them to death so not having the latest release is not a necessity for me. Saying that I keep a copy of most early releases for nostalgia purposes but rarely go back to them.
I know some seek for version no.2 whereas 75%  of formulas have remained unused by me, what a waste  :embarrass: :)) I still trawl the old FF.com as there is still so much info there to be had. I don't think Jesse envisaged the popularity of MB3d  as an art form just a way for non mathematicians like me to carry on when Fractint was so command line oriented back in the days of Dos 6.1 and early Windows 3.1 etc.  Whoops I got a tad off topic there.  :))

Edit:- Recently downloaded some JIT packages and given them a try, incidentally my formula folder count is 593  ::) included are quite a few JIT items

I know that this topic is somewhat dead, so I am reviving it. I would like to know how to add/import forumulas to MandelBulb 3D. I am using version 1.91 in Windows 10. Also, are the ones that spain2points linked, working?

You can put formulas (extension is .m3f) into the M3Formulas-folder

Matt Benesi's formulas will work, though you can only use the files from his Google Drive that have the correct extension.
It's just a jump to the left...

Thank you. Most if not all of his formulas have the .m3f extensions.

I think Darkbeam had made Surfbox formula and couple of hybrid mandelbulb formulas. But these haven't been included in official package. But can be downloaded in  Darkbeam files. I'm not shure why, probably this was for testing or something.
