Feature Requests: High Bit Depth Images, Alpha Channel

Hi there. I can't find anywhere else to post feature requests, and this seems to be the official MB3D spot as far as I can tell ...
It sure would be nice if MB3D could save HDR images, ideally up to 32-bit float. That way, shadows and highlights wouldn't totally clip. Is there any hope of this.
Also, there appears to be no alpha channel information. Sure would be nice to have that, along with z-buffer.
And speaking of z-buffer, the high bit depth request would apply there too. 256 levels is a pretty skim z-buffer to work with, especially considering how dependent it is on the setting for far plane distance.

Finally, what's the state and hopes for a 64-bit version? ... Additionally, is there any hope for GPU rendering? That alone is one reason I've started learning MandelbulberV2.

Sorry to say, but M3D is seemingly dead from a development perspective. There were a few people who were working on updates after Jesse made the source code public, but I haven't heard anything about it for a long time. This thread is still at the top of the forum with zero replies after two weeks, so it's probably safe to say that the community around it is mostly dead at his point as well. Still an amazing piece of software that I use on a daily basis (been rendering a new animation for a few months), but I wouldn't expect any future updates.
