MightyMandel Merge
« on: October 28, 2019, 01:22:58 AM »
Hi, Mr. Claude.  I was wondering if it may be possible in the future to port the OpenGL rendering engine from MightyMandel to Kalles Fraktaler to enable hugely faster render times?  My machine is a Pentium G4600 paired with an RTX 2070 (overkill, for sure with this CPU).  I've compared render times between the two of them and the results are staggering.  For one particular location, with the best preset selected in KF and (from what I can see) the best options for MM, KF renders at 1600*900 in 18:12.91, and MM renders in 279.6 seconds, or just about 4:40, both of them with deriviatives active.  I've attached the .kfr file for the location.  I rather like it, so I am also adding a rendered image of it. :D

I'm working on OpenCL support for KF.  So far the speed boost is minimal (comparing Ryzen 7 2700X CPU vs AMD RX 580 GPU).  In progress..
