Hey, Claude.  Have you ever thought of porting KF to iOS or Android?  Compared to KF, no fractal app I?ve seen is even worth it?s weight in sand.  They?re all limited to a zoom of 1E11, and the best of them is limited to 10,000 iterations.  It?d be awesome to be able to use it on my iPad?s beautiful screen.

Short answer: No.

Longer answer: It would require a serious rewrite of very large portions of the code, because it is intimately tied to Windows APIs.  I do have an Android tablet, so I could think about writing an Android fractal explorer (maybe I think about it for 'et' in the future), but afaik I can't develop for iOS from my Linux system (not going to buy a Mac).  Moreover some of the libraries used are under licenses that are incompatible with the Apple store ((L)GPL), so I couldn't legally release a version for iOS even if I wanted to.  Another consideration is thermal issues - phones/tablets are not really designed for large calculations using 100% of all cores for minutes/hours...

I dunno, they're developing Wine for Android at the moment, so it might be plausible in the future...
Definitely not on Apple products, however. They're so closed off that they wouldn't even consider for an instant the possibility of CrossOver or something similar on their devices.

I just investigated this a bit. Wine is native, so Wine on my tablet could run exe compiled for ARM. There is no mingw-w64 crosscompiler targeting ARM yet. There is Hangover which embeds an x86 emulator with Wine, but I could not find my files from inside it, and could not find its drive c from Android file managers. So I could not yet try to run KF on my tablet. Note that Wine and Hangover apps are several 100 MB each. No onscreen keyboard makes them hard to use too. Maybe experience is better in a couple of years...
