Regardless, I have an alternative: I attempt on making a zoom animation in the power 50 Mandelbrot set at 1920x1080. Being able to explore the Multibrot sets above power 10 is part of the reason why I love this version of Kalles Fraktaler as well as the hybrid formula designer.

Really love the hybrid formula generator, I'll be honest, it's a tad cluttered, but really powerful once you get the hang of it.

Is there any chance that the menu item for the exponent value can be changed to allow for fractional powers? Or is that not entirely possible?

fractional powers?
fractional powers have cuts, which breaks the assumption of continuity that allows perturbation to work.

Is there one location for standard ( quadratic) Mandelbrot set for which every coloring method gives nice image ?
Or there is differen location for every method ?

The crosshair window center is off-centered... as a consequence, clicking on the center of the pattern while using Newton-Raphson zooming causes the zoom to go not as intended. Is this a bug?

I found out that the scaling of the computer windows in Windows 10 is causing this bug... the crosshair window's center was off target from the actual center of the crosshair mouse cursor when the scaling was higher than 100%. Can you fix it?

The glitches are still present in the 50th power Mandelbrot set.

I didn't knew perturbation required continuities... but would there be a special algorithm for perturbation to work with discontinuities? Probably not, because it hasn't been found yet.

Correction: using the best settings, instead of the fast settings preset, corrects the glitches.

There may be a bug in the hybrid formula designer regarding setting glitch detection threshold based on power of formula (higher powers generally need larger thresholds).  I'll look into it, in the mean time try adjusting things in the perturbation and series approximation tuning dialog (advanced menu).

That's why I switched settings from fast to best presets. It corrected the glitches. A nice workaround with glitch low tolerance enabled and never ignored isolated small glitches. It may have increased render time, but it's the best I can do.

I don't have Windows to test with, so probably not without a lot of trial and error with you or someone else testing some (possibly many) builds... may be quicker for you to fix it (and contribute the changes for eternal fame and glory), you can find the relevant part of the code here:
https://code.mathr.co.uk/kalles-fraktaler-2/blob/ec44abb522811ea93e03c8a27933b19472d54bc1:/fraktal_sft/main.cpp#l693 CrossHairProc()

Does the iteration count display in the bottom right of the status bar have a similar problem?

Sorry, I'm not very familiar with this code...
Edit: The iteration count display works correctly even though the crosshair window center isn't properly working.

Apparently Microsoft Windows 10 has a built in magnifier that seems to be much more powerful than KF's:
Quote
You can quickly open the Magnifier by using the keyboard shortcut Windows key with the plus sign (+) to zoom in and Windows key with minus sign (-) to zoom out. Use Windows key and Esc to exit the magnifier.

Linux users might try KMagnifier (Debian package kmag); other magnifiers I tried had flaws (magnus (GNOME) didn't display cursor and only went up to 5x zoom, xmag didn't follow cursor or dynamically update, similar issues with xzoom.  The vmg window followed cursor and was very nice except mouse click closed the magnify without passing the click on to the app (and vmg would hang without exiting at that point too), so for use with KF you'd have to click twice...

If it's of any help the oldest version of kalles fraktaler that I have on my system, being 2.11.1 when karl was the only person working on it, also has this issue with the crosshair window, and when testing it out, the distance between the mouse cursor and the center of the crosshair is reduced to zero when in the top left corner of my screen, pointing towards it being an issue with the app and the scaling option in the windows display settings, as I did not have this issue on my smaller monitor.

Testing this out by switching the scaling back to 100% instead of the default option of 125% does fix this problem.
