Hey!
I am invited to do a 2h+ "Fractal Visual Mediation" at Psyfi Festival this summer.  :)
Basically edited slow motion zoom synced with relaxing ambient music.

So after about 2 years pause I'm back at KallesFraktaler to create some additional movies.
Quite a few things have changed, lots of improvement that I like.

But also new problems. Not with KF itself, but the compatibility of rendered Sequences and YannLeBihans Movie maker tool.
http://www.chillheimer.de/kallesfraktaler/mmy/
I used infinite wave colourings instead of a fixed palette, but the imported sequence in the movie maker looks totally different, and much less appealing.
Can anyone give me some input on that?
Also, do you know a way to exchange the palette of a rendered movie sequence with an existing one(generated/saved in KF)

I messaged Yann if there is (or if he plans) to update the movie maker already and will keep you posted. Last version is from 2016.

Or are there other developments regarding movie creation from KF sequences that I might have missed? The original moviemaker from kf is outdated too.

If it looks different in recent KF (2.14) vs old KF (2.11), as long as it doesn't use backward incompatible features then that is a bug in new KF...

Very hard to do from images alone, technically doable if you have the .kfb keyframes but KF doesn't have a built in way to regenerate all the images from the .kfb with a new palette.  I should add a mode to KF's command line to go from KFP + KFB → image, which could be scripted for batch conversion.

I have a simple movie generator (actually two, one for RGB images, one for raw DE data), but it's not compatible with KF out of the box (Linux only, expects differently-formatted data than KFB files).  Perhaps someone wants to sponsor me (or another developer) to port it to Windows and write a GUI for it?

Hey Claude!
Did some testing and starting to get a grip of it. It seems like it's just infinite waves that aren't working. I can live with that.

Having a good (uptodate) movie renderer for windows with gui would be great.
My financial situation is not the best at the moment, but I could offer a part of my small pay for that presentation, something like 50-100.

Maybe others want to pool in?
I think there is definitely a "market" for it - especially if it all was a little easier.
If KF had an "easy" mode-gui and n equally simple movie maker, the number of users would probably skyrocket.

Have you thought of setting up a crowdfunding campaign? I'd definitely participate and help spread the word.

ha, I just noticed the button "transfer to palette" in the infinite waves area. one click transfers the palette to the fixed palette, which makes it compatible. awesome, just what I needed. :)
