Zoom Sequence (New infinite possibilities 2)
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: A zoom sequence of a fractal from my new software. Look at full resolution to see all details. Highest zoom is top left. Lowest is bottom right.

Divides three different formulas by a common divisor and keeps and sums only the remainder of each. This makes this fractal actually a hybrid of these three.
1:X*Y
2:X²+Y²
3:X*Y*(X+Y)

The structures (including lines and grids) are caused by patterns similar to moire patterns. The original structures can here be seen at the highest zoom levels. You can see, how the moire effect changes the appearance during zooming out several times. You can also see the repeated shape, which is also the whole fractal itself, which is limited by the value of the initial numbers. The shape appears in different ways during the zoom.
