Zoom Sequence (New infinite possibilities 2)Ocean of FireThunderblade
Ocean of Fire
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: Interesting image of the Perpendicular Mandelbrot Set with a stunning firey palette.  The odd nature of the fractal makes the image look like a boiling lake of molten rock and magma.  I rendered this using custom software that allows for using multiple machines to render one image.
The software in question uses my own C# .NET fractal rendering library named FractalSharp.
You can find FractalSharp on GitHub here: https://www.github.com/yodadude2003/FractalSharp
I also made a 16K render of the image that I've uploaded to my site.  You can find that at:
https://www.chosenfewsoftware.com/SharedImages/Fractals/firey_ocean_16k.png
It took a total of around 26 minutes to render the 16K version (2 machines, 24 threads total), and around 10-15 for the 4K one (1 machine, 12 threads total).
Enjoy!

Very good image.
I tried to run the program and got an error: "trying to divide by zero"

Hello! I'm glad you liked the image.  By the way, I've dropped support for MandelbrotSharp quite a while ago and have recently started working on a successor named GoFractal.  It is built on top of more modern and up to date frameworks and technologies, and will include a plethora of features that MandelbrotSharp was missing.  I might even open-source it, too ;)
I'll definitely make a thread about it once its ready for release.
By the way, that error in question can be avoided by holding the mouse button and then dragging the cursor to select the area of the image you want to zoom into.  Not the most intuitve thing in the world, but fortunately GoFractal will improve on that as well :)
