Mandelbulber's Cheat
Previous Image | Next Image
Description: Actually impossible in mandelbulber. Placing fractals inside glass with refraction. But since most properties of a material come from the surfcace, the combination of 6 flat glass cubes and 6 flat cubes of "nothing" (refraction 1, no reflections, full transparency) allow this. By making a second image with other size of the nothing and removing the differences with my denoising method, the slight visible rims of the nothing material can also disappear. The limited reflections become even with full quality settings and maximum reflections visible. This can be removed a bit by carefully roughening the surface.

Since the properties come from the surface, mandelbulber could theoretically make this possible legally by creating a primitive without hollow property (so that refraction stays), which actually doesn't remove inner fractals.
