Analytic DE is  tricky, atm I need to test various DE functions each time to find the best for particular settings. Previous example i used squaring DE (pow2).    This time Manhattan.

Thank you for sharing your params.

I'm however not sure at which point the used DE method comes into account.
I have checked the effect of the settings that are different between our params. While doing so I have seen that I can get the analytic DE working by only changing the value of analyticDE.scale1 .
I don't even need to add that additional line that changes the calculation of the DE.

But you are right - just changing the scale is not always enough. So, yes, I also don't have a general recipe how to get the same pictures with analytic DE as with delta DE.
