The Tail of Something That Lurks In the Night

A seahorse tail but using an unusual coloring method. It combines smoothed iterations and distance estimator as follows:

1. Take log of square root of distance estimate.
2. Add 0.694 times the (non-smoothed!) iterations.

For some reason the second step removes seams in the first step's output.

3. Subtract the smoothed iteration times a parameter.

It can be used to focus color on branch tips and do other strange things. In this instance I've reversed the way the level curves bow: they are concave toward the interior of the spiral instead of the usual concave-outward of plain smoothed iterations.
