I have a suggestion or feature request.
Here the problem:
I open an example, play with the parameters without touching the code, I see on the windows title the name of the example. Then I save my render/parameters with a random name, and when I load my saved parameters several hours or days later, I don't remember which was the example I used as starting point to create my fractal.
So, my idea is to add some tag, or some stardardized first line in the code of each example, with the name of the author and title of the example, so when I load my saved parameters I always know who is the author / name of the example.
For example, if I load a frag file with one of my renders, named for example "fragm-00Z-14.frag" and that fractal was made with Kosalos/Geode, I can see in the title of the window the name "fragm-00Z-14 from Kosalos-Geode" or something like that.
And if I edit the code of the example, modificating it, then Fragmentarium would add some tag to the new frag saying that is a mod from that example.
For example, "fragm-00Z-14 from Kosalos-Geode's mod".
The idea is that opening your saved frag files with the parameters of your fractals you can always know the example used and its author.

take a look through the frags, do you think that the first #INFO line would provide the tag data you want?

you could just name files less cryptically or put them in a subfolder named after the original ???

In my last fractal, the info line you mention:
#info https://fractalforums.org/code-snippets-fragments/74/apollonian-plus-spherical-inversion-plus-iteration-tweak/3049
whereas what i suggest is something like:
#example_info kosalos/apollonian-spherical-inversion
and that line read in the title of the window, together with the name of my saved frag.

with the name fragm-00Z-14.frag based on Kosalos-Geode I think you would be better off to name it Kosalos-Geode-00Z-14.frag in the first place ???
rather than having me or someone write many lines of code and spend the time maintaining and debugging that code it would be much better to just pick easier names  :-\

I stand corrected.
The frag files with my parameters already contain all the necessary information to identify the example. And I have been able to identify all the examples used in my previous fractals with Fragmentarium.
Thank you.

FragM inserts a "provenance" line in the generated frag when auto-save fragments is ON
Code: [Select]
// Output generated from file: Fragmentarium/Examples/Experimental/3Dickulus.frag
but a thought occurs... when saving a parameter file, settings only ( a preset as a file ), there is no provenance so the name or place it's saved is the only way to tell what frag it came from...

a parameters only file should have a single line that contains the path/name of the fragment that it belongs to ?

edit: issue raised as feature request on github : I misunderstood? talking about fragments or parameters only? if the later then you are right, parameter files need an info line too.
