(ChaosPro) The Amazing Mandelbrot Set; now uploaded on Youtube
« on: May 25, 2021, 07:46:04 AM »
I personally owned a copy of Bill Boll's "The Amazing Mandelbrot Set" all the way back in September 2010. Unfortunately, it seems he is no longer active and www.mandelbrotset.net is down.

I have decided to upload all 24 of the zooms to Youtube as a throwback to the good old days of mandelbrot zooms since the dawn of Youtube. Back then, they were probably the most creative Mandelbrot zooms I've seen, though I still see phaumann's E125 and Lloyd's Universe #3 zooms to be the most memorable.

Check out the 24 zooms on my playlist! Feel free to leave any comments. I am not monetizing anything from these videos. It has also been posted on Reddit

I OCR'd the first frame of each video and extracted the coordinates (with manual proof-reading) into an 8-page zine, PDF ZIP attached.

Thanks! I am going to post the stuff on Youtube one day. Interestingly enough this is the only time a zoom lists the final cooridnates by its corner coordinates... kinda inefficient...

I am a real metalhead kinda

kinda inefficient..

The redundancy helped my proofing a lot, though there were a few mistakes that affected both rows of digits most of them were isolated and thus easy to spot.

In particular, the videos only listed the topleft and bottomright coordinates. The center coordinate can be derived by averaging the x and y coordinates listed.
