Back in the days, deep zooms, namely those over E100, were rare. Phaumann's legendary E125 zoom was probably the first video to hit over E100.
Recently, I have been contact with the creator of Fractal Extreme [one of the most used software before Kalle], who made a E301 picture (more precisely a zoom factor of 2¹⁰⁰⁰) though there is no video of such a zoom.

Unfortunately, the video is quite boring. I have posted the entire zoom, compressed to just 50 seconds, on TikTok.

Yes, good old fractal extreme! It was *the* high-speed mandelbrot program since it's inception. It even had a simple multiwave coloring option with "show stripes" and a high "speed" setting.

But Kalles has it totally beat, making it almost abondanware these days.

As of 2021 the 2d escape-time fractal scene is dominated by Ultra-fractal for versatility and Kalles for performance. Xaos and frax are fun to play with, and there are many other programs, but they are also quite limited.
