(Question) Mset hyperbolicity conjecture: Unprovable?
« on: August 31, 2019, 06:56:45 AM »
One of the most stunning results (imo) in mathematics is Goedel's and Cohen's proof that the continuum hypothesis is independent of current mathematics, so it can neither be proven nor disproven with today's notation/mathematics. Of course, adding a new axiom might change that.

So I was wondering: One of the big open problems in fractals is the Mset hyperbolicity conjecture - the interior of the Mset is all bulbs and minibrots, and that's it.

I'm sure a lot of mathematicians tried to prove or disprove this, but does anyone know of any efforts trying to show that it might be independent of today's mathematics as well?

Side question: Does anyone know of a review paper dealing with this in terms of what problems have been shown to be unprovable?
