Greetings!

I wonder, are there on these forums or maybe somewhere else in the Internet any examples of using moire effect for computer artistry? I'm exploring now this effect and here some examples of moire effect in still images and animation:

More moire effect examples here (I could not attach more than one file to this message):

A year ago, a user of my JavaScript Mandelbrot Generator made some experiments using high repeat rates for the color palette to create moire patterns:

Example 2
Example 3

My Lyapunov program can easily create moiré effects. It's just a matter of the coloring scheme, not an inherent part of the Lyapunov fractals, and in most cases I avoid moiré patterns. But here and here are two examples.

I discovered moire quite incidentally while programming a ray tracer, and don't know, maybe it's just me, but it seems to me quite amazing (if you look for sometime at it, noticing various patterns, it looks just as infinite as fractals):

Anyways, many thanks for replies!

Mostly I try to avoid digital Moiré patterns (thinking of deep M-set zooms here) because they are distracting from the real structures I want to visualize.  KF optionally uses jitter (randomized per-pixel small coordinate offset) to reduce it.

More interesting I think are the real-world analogue interference patterns you can get from (eg) looking through two chain-link fences.
