Damn, I understand that losing years of work is horrible!

I have no links with Mandelbulber other than being a user, and just became active again on this new forum. Some questions and remarks to better understand the situation and perhaps be of support;

I've searched through a very recent source code of Mandelbulber, but could not find any of the text mentioned in your link. It appears to be found in a very old version of Mandelbulber (see the link to the Google Spreadsheet on http://www.fractalforums.com/tutorials/all-mandelbulb3dv189x2-formula-descriptions/ ).

Perhaps your problem is similar to http://www.fractalforums.com/mandelbulb-3d/mandelbulb-3d-(v-189x2)-suddenly-refuses-to-respond-and-idk-why/ ?

Are you a professional in fractals, making money using the software? Did losing your work cause any loss of income?

As far as I know Luca's use of words, he uses 'bug' to describe behaviour in fractals that is not wished for, like cuts/discontinuities and such. If you read through his formula-descriptions those 'bugs' are everywhere. And sometimes those 'bugs' have lead to beautiful - or at least interesting - new fractal formulas.

As to the behaviour you mention, i.AM.A.i, I do not understand what you mean.
Can you show us any imagines of your problem? Images that have been altered?

I'm really sorry to hear t hat you lost creations because of a fractal program my words here are not intended as antagonist, simply some things to think about before starting a law suit that you may or may not win...

1. Did you find the warning before or after losing your creations?
2. The text in the image looks like documentation of some feature that is not fully implemented. (may not be applicable as evidence in this situation)
3. How old is your version of the software?
4. Can you describe the steps required to activate this "bug" so others can investigate? (this is absolutely necessary and must be reproducible)
5. How much did you pay for the software?
6. backups, always backup.
7. you will have to demonstrate that the author intended harm or somehow holds liability for your use of this software.
8. where did you obtain your copy? pre-compiled package directly from the author? third party? compiled your own?

free is use at your own risk ie: no expectation of value or fitness.
old and free bumps this up even higher, as responsibility falls to you to know what you are doing.
the source code is available, that's where you should have been looking for problems not fractalforums.
being old and free, you should be familiar with the sources and compiling your own executable to ensure that it will not fail under your usage conditions.

I hope you can find peace with this, I do understand how frustrating it can be. 

 just tryin' to save you more brain damage by getting you to think carefully about it.

The usage of the program is at own risk, I cannot give warranties of any kind. There are no restrictions in the usage of the program, but feel free to give a donation to fractalforums.com to keep the servers running! The calculations are using by default all processor cores leading in a 100% CPU usage. Make sure the computer cooling system works well and be aware of a higher electricity bill. Because of newer functions there might always be changes in the displaying and calculation of older parameter or m3i files. Have this in mind if you want to continue animations, big renderings or mc-renderings.
