Again it is just the different ways we can read English. If you go to FractalDaves site, I suspect you may see something similar in approach  but using polar coordinates instead.

BTW I implemented your code into MandelbulberV2 maybe a month ago, trying to use Distance Estimation, but got sidetracked so did not report back.  I can not remember much but the analytic DE attempt was not good. Maybe I will try again :)
