Fractal Theme contest of the month, October 2020
The theme is chosen by the winner of the month September.  The  theme is -   'Astronomy'

Have fun!

The rules:
-Only pure fractal renders with basic post editing allowed (like contrast, saturation..)
 - 2D and 3D fractals are allowed, but only one entry a member.
 - The winner may choose the next months topic (own idea or chosen from "contest ideas"-thread.)
 - To participate, just post in this thread and attach the image to your post. (don't use the gallery)
Please give it a good name, and add interesting info, like software/formula used, parameter sharing is very welcome! Use a good resolution but remember the max. size allowed. 3840x3840  Max  filesize: 5.01MB
If it is too big, I have to re-scale the image to upload it to the winners gallery. It is better that you do it yourself (quality etc).
Voting is allowed the entire period, even change your vote until the end of the 27th of the month. But, no votes after midnight the 27th.  Please vote for each entry once, either bronze, silver or gold.
On the 28th the winners will be announced and their fractals will have a place in the Gallery of Honor.

The other rules are the same as with the normal Image of the month contest. In short:
We start the first day of the month, participate, during this time you can even change entry, whatever, until the end of the 14th of the month.  (A'dam time: Check your local time here:
https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/netherlands/amsterdam
Any entry after midnight will be removed without warning, even if the topic was not locked at the time. (my fault, but I can't sit every month waiting till midnight) So midnight the 14th, no later.

Feel free to share your ideas with the FF-team, on the discussion thread.  (please not here) Or send me a PM.

Above all, let's have some fun and please join the contest for "Eternal Honor and Glory "  ;)

"Obversatory": a play on words for this structure I found quite some time ago, can't find the frag that generated it but I think it was Knighty's pseudo-mandalay box thingy using Roquen's domain mashup?

Representing the rush of ideas and curiosity escaping the dome as it opens for an evening of observation and discovery.

The Gravitational Pull of a Black Hole

Made using Infinity Fractal v 1.23 (not released as of posting, but soon!)

I noticed this a while back: https://fractalforums.org/share-a-fractal/22/reviving-an-old-topic-and-fractal-from-the-old-fractalforums-mobius-mandelbrot/3512

I thought it was pretty cool so I started playing with it in Infinity Fractal. I wondered what other types of transform might look good so added quite a few.

This image is made using a 'gravity well' transform which defines a point in the complex plain that pulls the orbits towards it. Variables are: point, radius, mass and start iteration. So when an orbit is within the radius of the gravity well, a pull proportionate to the mass reduced by distance moves the orbit inward. It very much seems to rip poor old Mandy apart!
