Fractal Theme contes of the month, September 2019- The theme is chosen by the winner of the month August, Gerrit.

The Theme for September is "Beast"
The rules:
 -Only pure fractal renders with basic post editing allowed (like contrast, saturation..)
 - 2D and 3D fractals are allowed, but only one entry a member.  (for now)
 - The winner may choose the next months topic (own idea or chosen from "contest ideas"-thread.)
 - To participate, just post in this thread and attach the image to your post. (don't use the gallery)
    Please give it a good name, good resolution and add interesting info like software/formula used, parameter sharing is very welcome!

The other rules are the same as with the normal Image of the month contest.
In short:

We start the first day of the month, participate, during this time you can even change entry, whatever until the end of the 14th of the month.  (A'dam time: Check your local time here:
https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/netherlands/amsterdam
Voting is allowed the entire period,  until the end of the 27th of the month.
On the 28th the winners will be announced and their fractals will have a place in the Gallery of Honor.
https://fractalforums.org/index.php?action=gallery;cat=27

This is still in a trial period, so this is not final.  Improvements will follow along the line.
Feel free to share your ideas with the FF-team, on the discussion thread.  (please not here)

Above all, let's have some fun and please join the contest for "Eternal Honor and Glory "  ;)

Beastie, or: Lousy Beast, Beastly Louse

Made with Lyapunov Pagoda (see attached zip file). No post editing except downscaling from 7200*5400 to 4000*3000.

Nights Nightmare

After i read the topic beast, i thought, that i would not find anything good. But in my recent fractron library i found an already forgotten grim looking fractal. Discarded and forgotten due the dark grim look. I had just to remove its mirror (there were two beasts) and tweak the grim frightening look a little bit more.

Made with fracton 9000. Fractron is not able to make actual 3D effects. To get the deepth of field, i had to make an array of transformations at the center first. Then i built more transformations to get the actual fractal.

The actual fractal image had just to be rotated at 45 degrees, because it has been constructed diagonally. No other changes has been made afterwards.

This is the Flame code for fractron9000. Just add this code in a existing Fractron library under your last flame (allways make a backup copy first). Afterwards you need to rotate image by 45 degrees! Image size has to be adjusted in fractron9000s program settings!

  <flame name="beast7" version="Fractron9000 0.4" size="800 600" center="1,2748 0,5726" scale="44,5951" zoom="0" rotate="0" background="0 0 0" brightness="1,644" gamma="1,996" vibrancy="1">

Found this spider-beast hanging from a cave ceiling in the Amazing Box using Mandelbulber. Since Mandelbulber's .fract parameters aren't included in the attachment file types list, for some reason, I zipped them up.

Close up detail of one of the Hybrid Mandel/Menger bulb beasts that guard the entrance to Menger's Inferno. This is the "West" beast a.k.a. Horatio.

Rendered with Mandelbulb Distance Estimator + Menger Sphere (knighty) Fragmentarium/Examples/Experimental/3Dickulus.frag using DE-Kn2cr11.frag

Fragmentarium is not a toy, it is a very versatile tool that can be used to make toys ;)

Moonbeast

This is not a depiction of H. P. Lovecraft's moon-beast. Mine is another, more abstract, species.

Ultra Fractal
Parameters available here: https://sta.sh/01slujd769u7

Initialise:
z=p1
k=z
c=pixel
int i=0

Iterate:
i=i+1
z=z+p2*sqr(z)
k=k+p2*sqr(k)
a=k
b=z
k=p3*sqr(cos(k)+asinh(z))+p4
z=z^i+a^i+c
c=p5*i^sqr(b+a)-c

p1, p2, p3, p4 and p5 are parameters
with values of 0.45, -5.75, 0.45, 1.3 and -0.5

"Fire Demon"
I encountered this beast when rendering the mset with the buddhabrot technique, showing only iterations 20-200
