The rules are as follows:

- Every user can submit ONE cool picture to become our fractal image of the month.
  Images must be your own creation!  Production date is unimportant.

- Good resolution (HD mandatory, 4k preferred for print of calendar)
   Images must be fractals, created with fractal software, post-production is allowed.

- To participate, just post in this thread and attach the image to your post. (don't use the gallery)
  Please give it a good name, and add interesting info like software/formula used, parameter sharing is very welcome!

- The first two weeks of the month are for suggestion, until the end of  the 14th of the month,   00.00 hr. midnight  (A'dam time)
   Check your local time here:
   https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/netherlands/amsterdam

- You can vote for each entry once (using our voting system bronze, silver and gold -  1, 2 and 3 points)
  This voting period is from the beginning of the contest, until the 28th of the month. You can change your vote during the
  entire period. Voting will be stopped at 00.00 hr.  midnight  A'dam time.  Check your local time here:
  https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/netherlands/amsterdam

- Top3  will be displayed in in the Winners gallery when voting is closed, and at the end of the year in a best of the year
  thread/galleryslideshow.
  https://fractalforums.org/index.php?action=gallery;cat=25

- We want to try to revive the printed fractal calendar idea. So any submitter automatically accepts that his image
   can/will be used in the  calender if it wins.  (all money from the calendar goes into the further development of
 fractalforums.)

- After the winners are announced, the winning images will be presented in the 'gallery of fame' to honor the winners and their Art.
  The winning images are presented in this new gallery, which will grow to become a "best of" gallery:
https://fractalforums.org/index.php?action=gallery;cat=25

- Post any questions, or suggestions you have here: https://fractalforums.org/fractal-image-of-the-month/70/fractal-image-of-the-month-discussion-thread/150

Please start admitting your best work now and most off all.... have Fun!   :thumbs:
Fractal Forum team.

"The Spanish Armada"

Quadratic Julia set with seed c=-1.39844+2.75977i with sabine62's invcylindrical transformation applied before the next iteration (z.im = z.re*sin(z.im), z.re = z.re * cos(z.im) ) colored by trafassel's direct RGB summation method. Max iteration 250 (image's color is very susceptible to that), bailout 106 plane range [-1..1] x [-1..1]

Image was computed at 4 times the resolution, downscaled and JPG compressed at 90%.

"Postcard from a Vegetable Galaxy"

Ultra Fractal

The formula is a variant of the magnet fractal z=sqr((z^2+c-1)/(2*z+c-2)) with two variables inspired by ideas from the "Holomorphic Mandelbrot extensions" thread.

initialise:
z=sqrt(-1/4)
k=-z

iterate:
k=sqr(z/k)
a=z
z=sqr((z^2+c-1)/(2*z+c-2))+k+@p
k=sqr((k^2+c-1)/(2*k+c-2))+a+@p

The value of parameter p is ( -0.86706, 0.18392)

Another world.

Fractron9000 is not able to make real 3D flames. The 3D effect has been achived by placing an symmetrical array of 2-4 (or more) identical transformations with different colors very close to the center as base. These act almost as a single transformation. But the minimal distance causes a holographic or crystal like DOF effect with the center as sharpest point. Then are other transformations placed at a greater distance to build the actual fractal.

FILIGREE BALL FACTORY

Unorthodox Lyapunov fractal. Iteration function: f(x) = 1.15*sin(x+r); sequence = ab; x in [-8, 32], y in [-8, 22]. "Unorthodox" means some cheating with the Lyapunov exponent: The derivative of the iteration function is set to 1.15*cos(x+r*x) instead of 1.15*cos(x+r).

In honor of coming back to the forums, I have made a fractal specifically for this month's competition, in it's final hours. It was based on an old one I did called BlueCubeShine. I did it in MandelBulb 3D, using Menger3 and BenesiPine2 formulas.

This is the first new fractal I have rendered in 5+ years. I only did a very slight noise reduction in GIMP and resized from 4320p to 2160p (4K 16:9).

I call this one "Geomatriculation" with maybe a subtitle of Blue Valentine.

Enjoy!
