Theme contest rules:

The rules:
-Only pure fractal renders with basic post editing allowed (like contrast, saturation..)
 - 2D and 3D fractals are allowed, but only one entry a member.
 - The winner may choose the next months theme- topic.
 - To participate, just post in this thread and attach the image to your post. (don't use the gallery)
 - Start contest, the first day of the month, participate, during this time you can even change your entry, whatever, until the end of the 14th of the month. When the final votingperiod starts.   (A'dam time: Check your local time here:  https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/netherlands/amsterdam
 - Any entry after midnight will be removed without warning, even if the topic was not locked at the time.
 - Voting is allowed the entire period, even change your vote until the end of the 27th of the month. But, no votes after midnigth the 27th.  Please vote for each entry once, either bronze, silver or gold.

Please give it a good name, and add interesting info, like software/formula used, parameter sharing is very welcome! Use a good resolution but remember the max. size allowed. 3840x3840  Max file size: 5.01MB
If it is too big, I have to re-scale the image to upload it to the winners gallery. It is better that you do it yourself (quality etc).

On the 28th the winners will be announced and their fractals will have a place in the Gallery of Honor.

- We want to try to revive the printed fractal calendar idea. So any submitter automatically accepts that his image can be used in the
calendar if it wins.    (all money from the calendar goes into the further development of fractalforums.) https://fractalforums.org/fractal-image-of-the-month/70/pdf-calendar-2020/3263

Feel free to share your ideas with the FF-team, on the discussion thread.  (please not here) Or send me a PM.

Above all, let's have some fun and please join the contest for "Eternal Honor and Glory "  ;)

Im testing some nice color schemes from my program. This is for example a linear+sine transfer function! (applied on the PeacocK4 palette by FractalAlex)

A Natural Source of Gastrointestinal Magnetism

Ultra Fractal

The gastrointestinal tract (esophagus, stomach and intestines) of human beings has a strong magnetic charge. This attracts it to the earth's core, which is comprised of an unknown metal and is itself strongly magnetized. Hence, people do not simply float off into space.

However, problems can occur if this magnetic charge becomes depleted. Fortunately, this can be easily remedied by ingesting a portion of wild antinomian cabbage (brassica bohemia). This vegetable, depicted here, contains 15.7g of magnetism per 100g.

"Biology" huh? I guess I cannot let this opportunity fly away and escape. ^-^

This is a slightly evolved re-render of "Dragonfly", a random fractal ellipsoid packing. This version is souped up with pretended ambient occlusion, a bit of subtle environmental variation, higher resolution and better anti-aliasing.

In a sense, these aggregated clusters are inherently uninteresting objects, because they are arbitrary, random, meaningless things that do not lead to actual insights. I guess it could also be regarded as a cheat: I have looked at possibly more than 200 of those random things by now, and a single one appeared to depict anything concrete.

But there is a strong connection to biology. These randomly generated structures, observed by an evolved brain, do lead to insights about that brain. Watching these randomly generated pictures is like watching clouds and dreaming up significance and meaning as those shapes are marching by.
