no.

the period is 542080 and my algorithm for computing external angles (which involves tracing rays) is at least O(period^2), which means it would take a very long time

to be more precise, finding the external angles for a period 770 cardioid took 6 minutes in one test, extrapolating to period 542080 with the formula 6 / 770^2 * 542080^2 gives an estimated computation time of 5.6 years (and that doesn't take into account the fact that higher (slower) precisions are needed at higher periods because the atoms are smaller)

Unfortunately it's not very parallizable (I do trace rays from several starting points which could each run on a separate machine, but there's not so many of them, 64 at most, usually far less).  Could maybe get it down by a small constant factor (maybe 4x) by using multicore processors more effectively.  I think the work will add up to a good few months any way you optimize it.
