Distance (Logarithm) test

https://fractalforums.org/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=61

Testing the "ColorMethod: 7" corresponding to the new Distance (Logarithm) mode in the very latest Kalles Fraktaler 2 + GMP build (kf-2.11.1+gmp.20170913 or later required to load this parameter correctly).

6h27m render time at 16000x9000, 105 references, image min iters 105898, series approx skip 104455

Postprocessed in GIMP (gamma 2.4, white point 240, cubic downscale to 1920x1080, export to JPEG at best quality as PNG was slightly too large to upload here).

Cool
Where is the code of the method :
I have searched:
a@zelman:~/Pobrane/kf-2.11.1+gmp.20170508/kf-2.11.1+gmp.20170508-src$ grep -Rn "ColorMethod"

but can't find the method

It's not present in that old version.  Try the latest build and source. or browse the formulas branch online at https://code.mathr.co.uk/kalles-fraktaler-2/blob/5ebdd80c5b8b19d8bf0d8f314ca2b661229797d2:/fraktal_sft/fraktal_sft.cpp#l564

ok.Thx
So difference  between stndard DEM is :
(m_nColorMethod == ColorMethod_Logarithm){                 iter = log(iter);

and :
if (m_nColorMethod = ColorMethod_DistanceLog)                 iter=log(iter+1);

Are there any more ?

No, ColorMethod_Logarithm is not DEM at all, it's escape time with non-linear transfer function.

ColorMethod_Distance* have some image processing (looking up iteration values of neighbouring pixels) to generate a pseudo-de colouring.  It's not true DEM but looks pretty close sometimes.
