(Question) special characters

Lately I trierd to answer a post from different machines and different places (home / work) - unsuccessful. posting and previewing led to nothing. after a few minutes the page went blank white. Posted a test reply - olnly an emojy and "test" - worked instantly. copied my desired answer paragraph by paragraph and saved until I realized, that it was the City of "Duesseldorf" with the with the german character ue = u with two points above, that hindered the forum to respond.
are there any other restrictions, I need to notice?

I don't see yours, too, but I see mine, at least now (before posting).  Ë ë

My Browser (FF) does not even respond, when using one of these. Changing Text coding does not help. Neither preview nor post does lead to anything except a white page.

^  ^ cut n pasted the Es with 2 dots... I can see them as I type... preview shows both... edit:and they both show in the post too
