Someone locked one of my threads, named "Spirals". Is this a mistake, or have I been accused of doing something wrong?

It's not specifically for your thread, the lock also affects other threads. More information can be found here:

Lies! I have proof that it is a massive conspiracy against Paul, going all the way to the CIA, FBI and presidency!!! C:-) C:-) C:-)

Jokes aside, what does this say about the actual forum participation / reading of the image posters? Kinda shows why it was done, no?

Oh, I must have missed that then.  ;)

As I see it, it is to get the automatically generated image posts out of the main feed while still allowing to manually share them via the main feed. It gets rid of the clutter by separating it from the discussions. That way important announcements should also be more visible which should also reduce the number of topics like this.  :peace:

Why was there no official consultation before this was done? Why was there no official announcement? Oh, wait, there's no announcement board, the closest thing to that is this help and support one.

I'd suggest creating an announcement board at the very top of the list (or right below Board Rules and Guidelines). And using it to announce proposed changes before imposing them on the user base, rather than people waking up to find things have just randomly changed for no apparent reason.

And now I'll respond to the post you linked to, since it doesn't seem to allow replies directly to it for some reason.

Quote
The imagethread-board has been set to read only
The idea was nice, but it has the sideffect of a few threads dominating "unread posts" and "recent topics", keeping actual discussion out of the way.

Why not just exclude that board from affecting "unread posts" and "recent topics" then? Seems a simpler and less disruptive solution than what was done, which has the effect of a) punishing a number of the site's major contributors and making their contributions feel unwanted and b) generating support topics full of confused users (though, the lack of an Announcements forum is also partly the cause of the latter).

If it's not there we'll have to create it, nevertheless the post appeared in the recent topics feed so you could have found it if you had scrolled down a bit.

It might be better to ask that question on the thread Fraktalist mentioned on the announcement, so that everyone can see it.

Fragmentarium is not a toy, it is a very versatile tool that can be used to make toys ;)
