Hi, I've put my software in the downloads thread but it seems cumbersome to have to go through the thread to find the latest version and it will also build up with storage. Is it possible for me to add to the Downloads so that the latest version, changelog and any instructions can all be in the same place?

Thanks.

The downloads section has been inactive - but maybe it is a good idea to revive it.
We'll talk about that in the team, I see no reasons why not, though.
I think we have to fiddle around with permissions and user groups to enable upload of non-team members.
We'll look into this. (@3d, any thoughts on this?)

Until then, I'd suggest you handle it like kalles fraktaler in ff.com:
-Update your first post in the thread and always exchange the previous with the latest version attached there.
-Change the title of the original post to a current version number(this is how it will be called in the recent/unread posts from then on)
-Update the "features" list in the first post with new features and fixed bugs, changes since last version.
And finally post a new reply to the thread with the changelog and the info that there is a new version in the first post.

edit: hm, there was a request recently regarding another progrom to get it'S own section.. it had fewer users if I remember correctly, so we denied it. Can anyone point me to it?
The whole thing must stay fair of course, while we must try to avoid cluttering with programs that aren''t developed further or not used by people here.

Thanks for the info. I will update my downloads thread as you suggest. It would be great to revive the downloads section and would probably make the site seem more complete to have it active.

Isn't that what the "uploader" group is for ???

now that you mention it, yes, I think sockratease created it for that purpose.
I don't mind giving it a try.

@mrrudewords I've added you to the uploaders group, I think that'll enable you to upload files in the downloads section, test it out :D, navigate to the "Downloads/Fractal Software" section and look for "Add Download" and "MyFiles" in the menus

Maybe it's also possible to attach .ifp's directly instead of via a zip?

Yes, .ifp is the filetype for the Infinity-parameters
Sorry I was not more clear about that...  :embarrass:

Just noticed the ifp filetype has been added with a . instead of a , so now a rar.ifp is allowed but neither rar or ifp will be.

It is indeed working now. Thanks :)

Is this a bug in the forum?:

Go to the downloads thread (https://fractalforums.org/downloads/10) and Infinity Fractal 1.0.4 is showing, but this has since been updated and is now 1.0.6 in the Downloads section. I expect this locked topic should be automatically updated when I edit the download but this hasn't happened. Not a major concern.

Hi,

my Lyapunov program "Lyapunov Pagoda" is ready for release. 32 and 64 bit versions are online here:

http://home.mnet-online.de/polak/Lyapunov_Pagoda/

Is it possible to add it to the download section? Feel free to test it before you make your decision.
