yeah so how to translate into some basic operational funding to keep FF ad free ? we need some swag! hey CK would you be willing to kick a percentage back to FF when FF members buy "I heart chaos" T-shirts, mugs, caps, sneakers etc. ??? ( it should be "I Brot chaos" btw ;) ) or maybe a competition for a catchy doodle for FF logo? I suppose it boils down to volume, if only a few people want an item emblazoned with an FF logo then production cost is high per unit and to get a break on the cost we must order far more than we need or could use... I would be happy to donate ALL of the images I've posted on FF.org and FF.com (as a library to select the best of) to a calendar if someone wants to put it together, the idea though is not to produce any product, rather, just a PDF that can be had for a nominal fee like a $10 donation? and a user of the product would print it for their own use and agree not to redistribute the pdf... hmmm... might just do that myself anyways ;)

...meanwhile in Canada... productivity is expected to grow by 1.75% so the bank is expecting to raise the prime rate by 1.7% ??? (at least I think that's what they said on the radio today, I haven't researched it so I may be in err)

edit: oh! there it is! open to any member! contibute a calendar of your best works, make them available in a downloads section that is open to members when they make a donation, they can pick their favorite for the year... I dunno just throwing it out there.

@Fraktalist I think, I have just donated 276$. (PayPal did something strange so I am not 100% sure).
If this does not turn up in a few days, send me a PM and I'll try that again.

I have really enjoyed the help and support of the forum members. It was here that I discovered Mandelbulb 3D factal software, and have spent many a month marveling at the images this produces. If donating to keep this site available allows another curious soul to wonder in and discover the same joy, then the money is well spent.

Nice! Thank you 1bryan1  :clapping:

Sorry I can't confirm a onetime donation but I'm sure Frakt will!

I'm playing around with the idea of a mod that will generate a calendar from a user's  images in the gallery and output a pdf... wip

wow, who would have thought such a diverse group of nerds would all be such revolutionaries?   :awe:
well done, team!  :D

a handful of people own more wealth and resources than half the world's population combined, and this is by design, not by accident.  this doesnt come about by a few people working really hard and getting the just rewards of what theyve earned, as you would be led to believe.  the central-banking debt-money system that has been put in place the world over is designed to make slaves of us all.  contrary to the fear mongering promulgated by the rich and powerful who paint pictures of "socialist" dystopian nightmares to scare you away from ever entertaining the thought of any policies or practices that would ever actually benefit the common man, their central-banking debt-money system is the biggest wealth-redistribution scheme ever devised.  except of course it takes all the real wealth produced by the average person and funnels it straight to the top.  and in developing nations you have institutions such as the IMF going in, lending them their debt money, and then taking all their resources.  from the worst off in the third world to the best off in the first world, all of our qualities of life could and should be SO much higher than they currently are.

And of course the scare stories are always pointing to Venezuela (screwed over by the IMF and trade "partners" who were out to discredit it) or, before that, the Soviet Union (where the problem was despotic government, which was as cack-handed as any organization becomes when it escapes from all fetters of accountability -- see also: every disastrously-mismanaged monarchy in medieval history; every dictatorship that collapsed or started wars on far more fronts than it could possibly do and still win; Monsanto; Microsoft; Donald Trump).

but indeed, paypal seems to have done something strange, no sign of any transaction of 276$ - the last one was 1$ on the 10th of january. and a one time 25$ donation on 7th.

our recurring payments at the moment:
fractaldave 1$
upstreamer 1$

...
Definitely done this time
PayPal first spat out an error when I said I didn't live in USA, surprised me by refreshing the page to switch countries to mine when I entered my address., then realized my CC was one it had already a PayPal account for, so after I logged on - it finally acknowledged the donate. Phew!

I usually don't ask, especially because it always goes well with paypal, but I made a donation the end off december, and several times last year. I presume they worked out well?

oh, just a heads up, @1bryan1, if you don't like the banner above your avatar go to your acount profile and set "Primary Membergroup" to "No Primary Membergroup" and it will go away (at least I think regular users can do that)

I cannot see anything different about my avatar (except the supporter tag under it).
So just curious ....
What banner do you mean?
I also cannot find that Account profile option .

@1bryan1  ;D :fp: of course, the theme I use shows that tag above the avatar, and I guess admin can set primary group in profile, when I added you to the supporters+ group it automagicly made that your primary group, if you're ok with the banner/tag then all is well, if not just let me know and it can be switched off or changed, tnx again for your support
