Yes yes you guys are right....my apologies... I was thinking of embeded images. It was after a long day.

I did find the bit of code that was causing the upload problem. I noted that image security scan and recode potentially hazardous images settings were not acting like they should ie:image failes security check even when the check was turned off when recode images was off too.
I think I fixed it...the images I uploaded here had no prblems. I really didnt intend to cause any cafuffel, images aproaching 5M should be less problematic now . Again my apologies for disturbing the force  :-\
Fragmentarium is not a toy, it is a very versatile tool that can be used to make toys ;)

Our Options: Image threads, gallery with auto-threads, gallery without autothreads..
Thanks for this more reasonable response.

However I do not know what "gallery with auto-threads, gallery without autothreads" means, not can I find this anywhere under "help".

What I did is to upload a picture to the "gallery", which generate an unwanted post, then link the thumbnail to my post in image threads.
So now I have two posts of the same thing, which makes zero sense to me.

For usability I think attachments are superior. With those gallery links when viewing another tab opens up then you see a bunch of pictures, click on first one before you finally get there, whereas with attachment you simply click on the image and you see what you want. For posting obviously attaching is easier than the convoluted (undocumented) process involving the gallery.

But if it's an unsolvable problem I'll stop reporting the bugs.

The problem is not size approaching 5MB, The problem is small image files encoding larger images (in terms of # pixels) failing when attached.

Please mark this as "solved" if this is no longer a problem...

It should be good for uncompressed image sizes up to about 250M
